Get to know Me
Dr. Akintokunbo is a board certified family practice and geriatric physician. She earned her Medical Degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey and completed her residency thereafter at Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program, Sugar Land. She completed a Geriatric Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine along with an academic Fellowship with emphasis on wound care.
Dr. Akintokunbo provides patient centered comprehensive care and encourages her patients to be active participants and co-decision makers in their care. She received an award in her 3rd year of residency for the best in geriatric care.
Dr. Akintokunbo enjoys taking care of patients of all ages. She previously worked as an assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and has continued that practice of working with residents, fellows, and students on a consistent basis as she grows in her practice.
She is married and enjoys spending time with her family. She teaches Sunday school at her local church where she is very active.

Chau Ha2022-12-30Wonderful wound care doctor! Went to Kindred Hospital for wound care and was recommended to go to Helium with Dr. A at her private practice. My fiancé got road rash that was not healing after 5 weeks. We went to see Dr. A without an appointment and even though she was busy with another client she was willing to see us last minute to see what she could do to help (a true trait of a caring doctor). She was focused on trying to heal the wound first and foremost so she did not make us spend extra money on taking lab tests or anything or have us spend money on antibiotics especially if it is able to heal naturally. As she was dressing the wound, she also educated us on what kind of wound it is, how we can take care of it, and we came back 5 days later to see her and it was better! Thank you, Dr. A!
