Dr. Akintokunbo earned her medical Degree at University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, and completed her residency thereafter at Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program, Sugar Land. She completed a Geriatric Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine along with an academic Fellowship with emphasis on wound care at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Houston, Texas. She is board certified in Family medicine.
Her Special interest include managing diseases of the elderly-Dementia, Falls, chronic medical conditions as well as wounds. She also enjoys working with residents, fellows and students which she did as an assist Professor at Baylor and does on a consistent basis working with residents weekly.
Dr. Akintokunbo provides patient centered comprehensive care and encourages her patients to be active participants and co-decision makers in their care. She received an award in her 3rd year of residency for the best in geriatric care. She enjoys taking care of patients of all ages.
She is married and enjoys spending time with her family; she teaches Sunday school at her local church where is very active.
